A Youth Leader will work alongside the Youth Pastor and other youth leaders to carryout the youth ministry by developing in-depth, caring relationships with young people, and thereby communicating the love of Jesus Christ.
1. Responsibilities:
Understand and agree with the direction of Youth Ministry as outlined in the
Philosophy Sheet.
2. Meet the following personal qualifications:
A. Demonstrate the commitment to Christ with evidence of spiritual maturity,
character and Christian lifestyle choices.
B. Support the doctrinal statement, the general principles of ministry and the
leadership of the EFC and be active in its total ministry.
C. Commit to humble servanthood in the area of youth ministry. This is what we want to model to our young people. (Phil. 2:3-4)
D. Express a genuine love and concern for young people.
E. Possess the ability to be yourself among young people. They need to see the real you!
F. Be determined to be equipped for future ministry by attending monthly youth leader meetings.
3. Serve in the following general ministry areas:
A. Prayer for young people, Kenny and Kirsten King and the youth ministry.
B. Personal Growth—an honest and growing relationship with Christ and a willing ness to develop your spiritual gifts for ministry. This includes daily time spent with God in His Word and prayer.
C. Relationship Building—development of an in-depth, honest relationship with a
select group of young people for the purpose of demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ.
D. Consistency and Reliability in ministry and equipping meetings.
E. Communication—share frustrations, fears, plans, ideas, info, prayers, etc.
