MINISTRIES

Children

Welcome to E-Kids where we will explore Christ’s power at work in us!

Mission Statement: We exist to glorify God by assisting parents in bringing their children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We will be examples of grace to one another, living in obedience to God's word, while providing a safe environment for learning and growing. Our goal is that your children grow in a life of devotion to Christ and His Church.

As the children’s ministry department carries out EFCW’s vision of “equipping followers of Christ to impact the world”, we believe that our focus should be to partner with children’s primary disciple-maker—parents. We want to help equip parents, encourage them as the primary means a child will grow in faith, and engage both parents and children in the lifelong adventure of becoming Jesus’ disciples. We will introduce children to the person of Jesus, teach what it means to become His disciple, and provide tools for both children and parents to grow in their faith.

Current Opportunities

Lighthouse Backyard Bible Clubs: Coming to a neighborhood near you this summer! Click here for more details. Please come to one (1) of the following training meeetings if interested in helping; Wed. May 22nd or Wed. May 29th at 6:30 pm in the Fireside Room.

Camp Sponsorship. It’s time to think about summer camp! EFCW has a wonderful tradition of pairing up children who want to attend camp with sponsors who would like to help them go! Here is information for you concerning sponsorship:

Sponsors: Please consider helping a student attend Bible camp this summer by becoming a sponsor! Your involvement includes contributing a suggested donation of $90 per student, praying for and sending a letter to that student while he/she is at camp. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please fill out the sponsor form and return to the church office with your financial contribution. If you have questions about Camp Sponsorship, please contact Sally Calvin. (see form below)

Campers: If you would like to have a sponsor, please fill out this camper form and return it to the church office. As soon as you have decided on what camp you plan to attend and the dates you will be there, email Sally Calvin with that information and she will pair you with a sponsor.

Notes: The early registration deadline for Camp Shamineau was April 1, but you may register for camp anytime between now and when the camps begin. For both sponsors and campers: Approximately two weeks before a student goes to camp, letters will be sent to both the sponsor and the student letting them know contact information for each other.

  • Kidtricity (K-5th Grade) K-1st graders (and preschoolers of volunteers) will be experiencing “The Amazing Adventure” during Wednesday nights. Through music, stories, and activities, they will be introduced to the books of the Bible to help them see the “big picture” of God’s plan. Please register your child if possible ahead of time so that we have materials ready for him/her. 2nd-5th graders will rotate through three learning times over the course of a Wednesday evening. Thirty minutes will be devoted to game time focused on cooperative games. Children will also be encouraged to practice Christ-like character in game-type format. Leaders will use this time to meet one-on-one with your child for a short amount of time to go over memory verses and share prayer requests. Teaching on worship will fill another 30 minutes of time. During this segment, children will be taught what worship really means through music and other activities that help us focus on God and His character. Small group learning will fill up the last thirty minutes of time as we dig into the Bible, learn about its origins and how to use it, and become better equipped to share our knowledge with others. Register your child here for Kidtricity.
  • Surge (6th Grade) 6th graders will focus on issues that pertain more specifically to them as they “surge” forward to junior high and high school. We will focus on the authority of Scripture, peer pressure, standing up for what we believe, purity issues, etc. Register your child here for Surge.
